On the 18 June 1986 Hydrogeological Engineering Geological Dispatch of the Office of Geology of Georgia, Department of
Hydrogeological Resources of the Institute of the Balneology and Physiotherapy of the Ministry of Health of Georgia and the State
Commission of Reserves approved that operating reserve of the well No.54 is of category “A”.
The well yield is 77 m3/d for an
uncertain period of time. Water
temperature is 37 0C. The well No. 54
with the depth of 1400 m is equipped
with the corrosion-resistant pipes.
Mineral water operation is to be
executed by lowering of the siphon into
the well. The well is protected by the iron
fence. It has strict enclosed sanitary
area of 2160 m2. Mineral water coming
from the well is degassed in the rectifier
located near the well and then is gravity
fed through corrosion-resistant water-
pipe to the casting plant of “Borjomi
Product” Ltd.
Mineral water “Borjomi” from the well
No. 54 has hydrocarbonated-sodium
chemistry with the general
mineralization of 5,6...5,9 g/dm3. Among
the spontaneous gases, carbonic acid
prevails (more than 95%). The number
of dissolved carbonic acid is 500
mg/dm3.
The gas factor is 2,3. The chemistry of the mineral water from the well No. 54 is stable. The water is bacteriological pure.
